Resist:

be modern (again)

Shown at the John Hansard Gallery, Southampton in 2019 printed pieces made in collaboration with artist and curators Alice Maude-Roxby and Stefanie Seibold.

Large printed works were hung throughout the exhibition and subsequently used on the cover of the accompanying book (published 2020).

Taking initial designs by Alice and Stefanie and inspired by the work and process of Enid Marx I printed 50m of cloth.  The final designs emerge, as the patterns layer creating a rhythm of colour and design.

This work reflects print as a physical process, the rhythm of the woodblock, the blending of colour and the weaving of pattern.

The colouration of materials including but not limited to: textiles, paper, wood.

The application of colour via: dye, print, painting, coating processes.

I founded Natural Colour Systems to explore plant based colour and its material applications.  Currently, I am researching colours and processes and undertaking commissions for limited edition production.

I am looking for collaborative partners and new projects and am excited about sharing my knowledge through consulting and education.
